EcoBiz Star Partner 21 22 Energy CMYK

Find out how our ecoBiz Star Partner TUSA Office (owned by Entrada Travel Group) reduced their energy use.

The free ecoBiz program has assessed the waste, water and energy practices in hundreds of businesses in Queensland and developed case studies to help businesses improve their operations and save money through sustainability.

TUSA is one of the dive and snorkel experience operators in Cairns owned by Entrada Travel Group. Every day, they take visitors to the iconic Great Barrier Reef. They lease an office in Cairns.

The TUSA office registered for the ecoBiz program to identify opportunities to reduce resource use and monitor resource consumption. They were recognised as an ecoBiz Star Partner for their efforts to minimise energy use in their office.

Many thanks to ecoBiz, they have been a great partner and provided lots of useful feedback as part of our review. Ideas that we can work towards in the near future” Jo Harris, Compliance Officer

KEY INITIATIVES TO REDUCE ENERGY USE

  • TUSA source their energy from a 40kW solar system and make sure the panels are regularly cleaned to maintain efficiency.
  • They use efficient lighting in the building (28W T5 bulbs) and have removed unnecessary lights where natural light levels are sufficient.
  • The maintenance shed area has roller doors to allow natural ventilation and light. |
  • They turned off their electric hot water system as it wasn’t being used.
  • Their office printer is set on eco mode, and they turn off appliances when they’re not in use.
