KEY INITIATIVES TO REDUCE WASTE

  • Staff compete against one another for collecting the most recyclable containers to be recycled via Containers for Change Refund Scheme. Employees use Keep Cups and reusable containers to reduce waste from take-away orders.
  • A successful office clean-up identified unused electronic equipment, which was donated or recycled.
  • They have implemented measures to reduce the amount of paper waste:
    - Most documents are shared online.
    - When a paper version is required, it is printed double-sided.
    - They take notes on scrap paper.

KEY INITIATIVES TO REDUCE energy USE

  • They first switched to carbon neutral electricity and now, their home office source energy from solar panels.
  • They use energy-efficient lights.
  • Employee flights are tracked and recorded, and the company committed to increasing local projects to minimise transport.

KEY INITIATIVES TO REDUCE water USE

Applied Environment & Safety mostly use water for landscaping.

  • They turned off the automatic irrigation system to save water.
  • They improved the garden's soil and water efficiency by using mulch and replanting native plants.
